Hi, I'm Danielle! I'm a director of a small, not for profit, alternative high school and an aspiring author living in New York. (I'm hoping to publish a book of essays by late fall, so be sure to check back in for updates!)
I created Struck Inside Out back in 2014 when I decided that all of the personal stories I was writing about in my journals may actually help some people who were going through something similar.
I remember growing up and feeling like I was the only person who had ever felt her emotions to such a strong degree; I used to think that girl was too connected to her feelings. Now, I honor and embrace that woman as I know my ability to feel so profoundly is one of my greatest blessings.
Once I started publishing my writing within the Struck Inside Out community, I received such positive feedback from readers who were both happy and relieved to discover that they weren't alone in their experiences. It is one of my greatest pleasures to share my little corner of the world with all of you, to hopefully shed some light, insight and unintended humor on the ups and downs we all go through in life.
In the last five years I've been published in Best Self Magazine, The Olive Tree Review, Thought Catalog, Elite Daily, and Honesty for Breakfast. I've run writing workshops, started a mastermind, A Night for Dreamers, with some incredible women, and created a podcast.
My main passion has always been to live life wholly and without restraint; to feel as connected to myself and others as I possibly can. It is my intention with this space to uplift and inspire you to embrace the true nature of who you are and to step fully into your best, possible self.
I hope this blog can help remove the mask of fear and allow you to experiment with new ways of being while loving yourself wholeheartedly throughout the process. I believe that when we're at peace with who we are, we become at peace with everything else.
